Czech toll roads

In Czech Republic, toll motorways are identified by an D. A valid e-vignette is essential for travel on these designated motorways.

The motorways can also be labeled with an E. This is the same motorway as indicated with an D, but E means it is part of a broader European network that spans multiple countries.

A valid vignette is required for the following sections:

D0 (E50), D1 (E65, E462, E50, E55), D2 (E65), D3 (E55), D4, D5 (E50), D6 (E48), D7, D8 (E55), D10 (E65), D11 (E67), D35 (E442, E462), D46 (E462), D48 (E462), D49, D52 (E461), D55, D56.

Vehicle classes for Slovenian road vignettes

All vehicles under 3,500 kg with 4 wheels are required to purchase a vignette. Motorbikes, trikes and trailers are therefore exempt from the toll obligation.

The price of the vignette is based on the emission level of your vehicle.

Examples of emission levels
Standardowe paliwo
Gaz ziemny

CNG i LNG (nie dotyczy LPG)

Biometan
Hybryda plug-in

CO₂ maks. 50 g/km

Standardowe paliwo

Tradycyjne paliwa, takie jak benzyna i olej napędowy, stosowane w większości pojazdów konwencjonalnych.

Biometan

Czystsza alternatywa dla standardowych paliw. Pojazdy zasilane biometanem zazwyczaj emitują mniej CO₂.

Hybryda plug-in

Pojazdy z silnikiem spalinowym i elektrycznym, których emisja CO₂ nie przekracza 50 g/km. Zaprojektowane z myślą o większej efektywności energetycznej i niższej emisji.

Avoid penalties: get your e-vignette in advance of your trip

Driving without a valid e-vignette may result in significant fines. Avoid the risk by ensuring you have the correct Slovenian vignette for your vehicle category before you start your journey.

If you use toll roads in the Czech Republic without a vignette, you are immediately at risk of receiving a fine. Don’t have a vignette? Avoid the toll roads or purchase your vignette at DrogoweWiniety.pl.

The obligation to have a valid vignette is monitored by the Czech Police and the Customs Administration. They use the following methods to verify compliance:

  • License Plate Scans: Patrol cars equipped with cameras scan license plates to check for a valid electronic vignette or exemption.

  • Control Gates: License plate data is connected to control gates on toll roads for automated checks.

  • Inspections at Rest Stops: Vehicles may also be checked at rest stops or parking lots.

Yes, the Czech vignette can be transferred once to another license plate, as long as the vignette is not yet valid (the start date has not begun). If the vignette is already valid, you can still modify up to 2 characters on the license plate.

Simply visit the toll authority’s website and provide your country of vehicle registration, license plate, and authorization code (found on your confirmation).

It is possible to change the start date once after purchase, as long as the vignette is not yet valid (the start date has not started). You can adjust the start date of the vignette by visiting the website of the Czech toll authority or by contacting our customer service.

Once the start date has begun, it is no longer possible to modify the vignette. We recommend purchasing a new vignette to avoid fines.

There are a few exceptions to the mandatory purchase of a vignette:

  • Electric or hydrogen-powered vehicles.

  • Vehicles transporting severely disabled citizens with a ZTP or ZTP/P card issued in the Czech Republic. The driver must be the cardholder or a close relative (friends or neighbors driving do not qualify).

  • Vehicles transporting children undergoing treatment for cancer or hemoblastosis (proof such as medical records is required during roadside checks).

  • Historic vehicles with a special license plate and a historic vehicle license.
